Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah has announced that efforts are underway to extradite Sedina Tamakloe Attionu, the former CEO of MASLOC, back to Ghana to serve a 10-year prison sentence with hard labor.
The High Court handed down the sentence on Tuesday, April 16, also sentencing Daniel Axim, the former Chief Operating Officer of MASLOC, to five years in jail.
Deputy AG Tuah-Yeboah praised the court’s decision, emphasizing the importance of ensuring Tamakloe’s return to Ghana to serve her sentence.
He highlighted Ghana’s legal framework for extraditing individuals from abroad to face justice domestically.
“We have initiated the process, but this judgment will expedite it. In Ghana, we have laws that allow us to extradite individuals from other countries to face judgment.
Rest assured that she will be brought back to face her sentence,” he stated.
Tamakloe and Axim were found guilty on 78 counts, including causing financial loss to the state, theft, conspiracy to steal, money laundering, and violating public procurement laws, resulting in the loss of public property.
