Amerado Burner’s “Kwaku Ananse” Renominated for Popular Song of the year After Complaints, TGMA Corrects Nomination Errors

After voicing his displeasure over the original version of his hit song “Kwaku Ananse” not being nominated for the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), rapper Amerado Burner has seen a positive turn of events.

The original version of “Kwaku Ananse” has now been added to TGMA’s “Most Popular Song of the Year” category, while the remix has been replaced with the original in the Best Highlife Song category.

The initial oversight was identified during the one-week window for Errors & Omissions after the release of the TGMA nominations.

The board reviewed all submissions and acknowledged that there were no errors or omissions, except for a few corrections. One such correction involved “Lonely Road” by O’Kenneth and Xlim Kid, which was initially filed as a featured work but was later recognized as a joint project.

Amerado’s “Kwaku Ananse” remix was originally nominated in the Best Highlife Song category, which affected its consideration in the Most Popular Song of the Year category.

However, after Amerado’s complaints, the board reevaluated the nominations and decided to nominate the original version of “Kwaku Ananse” in both categories.
