Six Arrested for Staging Kidnapping of PRESEC-Legon Student

An intelligence-led operation by the Ghana Police Service has led to the arrest of six individuals, including four juveniles, who are all students of Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, Accra.

The two adults among the group are identified as Isaac Kissi Adjei, also known as Kofi Black, and Courage Teiko, also known as Timmy.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the juveniles, in an attempt to extort money from his parents for a trip abroad, conspired with the others to stage the kidnapping.

The group demanded a ransom of Three Hundred and Forty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵ 340,000.00) from the victim’s parents.

The investigation further revealed that the juveniles, along with the two adults, managed to collect Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵20,000.00) of the total ransom demanded.

To protect the identities of the juveniles, their names have been withheld, and their parents and guardians have been informed.
