Rapper Medikal has publicly announced his separation from actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui, revealing that they are now co-parenting their daughter, Island Frimpong.
In a tweet on Saturday, March 30, Medikal clarified that Fella Makafui is no longer his wife but his baby mother, and that they are currently focused on co-parenting their daughter. The announcement came in response to a post on social media that referred to Fella Makafui as Medikal’s wife.
The news of their separation comes after rumors last year hinted at troubles in their relationship, although neither party had confirmed the rumors publicly. However, Medikal’s tweet has now confirmed their split.
Subsequent checks on their Instagram accounts revealed that the couple has unfollowed each other, and Fella Makafui has also edited her username to exclude “Mrs. Frimpong,” which was previously part of her handle.
Additionally, a post on social media indicated that Fella Makafui has blocked Medikal on the platform. Last year, Medikal had hinted at a possible divorce, suggesting that marriage might not be suitable for someone as creative as himself, stating, “God knows I have done my best.”
Medikal and Fella Makafui got married in a lavish wedding ceremony in 2020 and welcomed their daughter, Island Frimpong, who is set to turn four in August this year.
