Otto Addo, the head coach of the Ghanaian national football team, has unveiled his 26-man squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda. Among the notable selections are David Akologo, who plies his trade in Bolivia, Ibrahim Osman from Nordsjaelland, Nathaniel Adjei representing a French club, and Diomande Mohammed who plays for Rangers in Scotland. These four players, alongside Frederick Asare from Asante Kotoko, have earned their debut call-ups due to their impressive performances for their respective clubs.
The friendly matches, set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, signify the start of a new era under Otto Addo’s leadership. Tariq Lamptey, the Brighton and Hove Albion right-back, makes a return to the squad after recovering from an injury that kept him out of the Africa Cup of Nations. Additionally, Patrick Kpozo, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Edmund Addo have been recalled to the team.
The squad also features familiar faces such as captain Andre Ayew, forward Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Osman Bukari, Samed Abdul Samed, and Elisha Owusu. Ghana will first take on Nigeria on Friday, March 22, followed by a match against Uganda four days later.
