Vice President Bawumia Mourns the Late John Kumah

Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed his condolences following the passing of Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah. 

Dr. Kumah, who also served as the Member of Parliament for the Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti Region, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Suhum Government hospital at the age of 45.

In a social media post, Vice President Bawumia described the late Deputy Finance Minister as “a truly committed member of our administration, and party, who dedicated his all to the success of our endeavors.”

Dr. Kumah was actively involved in parliamentary proceedings and was scheduled to contribute to the debate on the State of the Nation Address on Thursday and Friday before his sudden passing.

According to reports, his health deteriorated while he was visiting his constituency in the Ashanti Region for the independence anniversary celebrations. An ambulance was dispatched to transport him to Accra, but his condition worsened en route. The ambulance diverted to the Suhum Government Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The passing of Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah has saddened many, and his contributions to the party and the nation have been acknowledged and celebrated by Vice President Bawumia and others.
