#SONA2024: We Were Bruised, But We Are Healing – Akufo-Addo

In his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Tuesday, February 27, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo expressed optimism about Ghana’s future, stating that the country is overcoming its challenges and moving forward. He acknowledged the difficulties faced in the past but emphasized that Ghana is now on the path to recovery.

“We stumbled, but we are rising again. We were bruised, but we are healing. We have recovered our footing. We have dusted ourselves off, and now we face tomorrow with confidence,” President Akufo-Addo declared. He highlighted the resilience of Ghanaians, stating, “Yenim ko; yen nim adwane. That is the Ghanaian spirit. That is our armour and our shield. This is our ethos.”

President Akufo-Addo also announced the government’s plan to introduce a Performance Tracker tool in March this year. This tool aims to ensure transparency and accountability in the execution of infrastructure projects across the country. The President emphasized the importance of delivering tangible results to the people and addressing concerns about the accuracy of project presentations.
