Hidaya S. Ibrahim, the National Women’s Organiser of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has announced her resignation from her position and as a card-bearing member of the party, effective February 20, 2024.
Having served in various capacities within the PNC, including as a Parliamentary Candidate for the Wa East Constituency, Ibrahim cited personal progress and a desire to explore new avenues that align with her vision as reasons for her resignation.
In her statement, Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the PNC for the opportunities it provided her to grow in the political field and learn about the dynamics of national politics. She pledged to continue her activism in youth and gender issues.
She stated, “Having joined and served the PNC in several capacities as a parliamentary candidate, Regional Executive, and most recently, National Women’s Organiser, I believe very strongly that this is the perfect time for me to pursue other interests in tandem with my vision as a political and gender activist.”
Ibrahim’s resignation marks the end of her tenure with the PNC, and she looks forward to new challenges and opportunities in the future.
