President Akufo-Addo Announces Removal of 24 DCEs

In line with constitutional provisions and the Local Government Act of 2014 (Act 936), President Akufo-Addo has officially revoked the appointments of 24 District Chief Executives (MDCEs). The decision, based on Article 243 (3) (b) of the Constitution and Section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Government Act, 2014, affects individuals across various districts and municipalities.

The following individuals have had their appointments revoked:

1. Martina Appiah Nyantakyi – Ahafo Ano North

2. Nii Larteh Ollenu – Amansie West

3. Daniel Owuredu – Nkoranza South

4. Alhaji Abdulai Adams – Pru East

14. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumah – Weija Gbawe

15. Rashida Mahama – East Mamprusi

President Akufo-Addo, in a letter, urged immediate compliance with the directive, and replacements for the removed officials will be nominated in due course. The President expressed his commitment to ensuring effective local governance.
