Renowned New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has raised concerns about the party’s communication strategy, citing a lack of recognition for its accomplishments during an appearance on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday, January 31, 2023.
Despite having retired from domestic politics, Mr. Otchere-Darko emphasized his disappointment with the party’s inability to effectively showcase its achievements in recent years. Acknowledging the economic challenges faced by the nation, he asserted that the government has made significant strides in managing the country’s affairs.
Expressing frustration with the prevailing narratives surrounding the party, Mr. Otchere-Darko lamented the NPP’s communication shortcomings, describing it as a major disappointment. He pointed out the need for better acknowledgment of the work done by the government, especially during the crisis of 2022.
Addressing the impact of the crisis, Mr. Otchere-Darko highlighted the widespread adversity experienced across various sectors, including banks, retailers, and manufacturers. He expressed uncertainty about who benefited from the crisis and raised concerns about the lack of recognition for the NPP’s efforts during this challenging period.
Quoting Mr. Otchere-Darko, he stated, “I get somehow frustrated by the narratives, and a big disappointment I have is with the NPP itself, it is the lack of recognition of the work that they have done. For me, it’s a major disappointment.”
