Adwoa Safo Refutes Independent Run After Primary Defeat

Dome-Kwabenya legislator Sarah Adwoa Safo has dismissed speculations about her considering an independent candidacy following her loss in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries. Squashing rumors, Safo affirmed her steadfast allegiance to the NPP’s fundamental principles, categorically denying any intentions to run independently in the forthcoming December 7, 2024, elections or in the foreseeable future.

In an official statement, Safo reiterated her unwavering dedication to the NPP’s shared values and expressed her commitment to working alongside Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to “break the 8” in the upcoming elections. Despite her defeat by Free Zones Authority CEO Mike Oquaye Jnr, Safo emphasized her determination to collaborate with the party leadership in her constituency, striving to maximize support and secure victory in the general elections. Adwoa Safo polled 328 votes, while Oquaye Jnr garnered over 1194 votes, with third candidate Sheela Oppong Sakyi securing a modest 100 votes.
