OB Amoah Withdraws from NPP Parliamentary Contest in Akuapem South

Akuapem South’s incumbent Member of Parliament, OB Amoah, has opted out of the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary elections scheduled for January 27, 2024.

Citing personal grounds and expressing deep concern for the party’s well-being, Amoah, who also holds the position of Chairman of the Research Committee, underscored that his decision to forgo re-election had been meticulously discussed with the party’s leadership.

Despite withdrawing from the impending primaries, he pledged to remain actively engaged in the party’s affairs both nationally and within the constituency.

Amoah remarked, “The judgment of whether I will be missed or not rests with the people, and I cannot predict the outcome. With four terms in Parliament and executive service, I have accrued substantial experience. My withdrawal is motivated by the national and personal interests of the party.”

Encouraging Akuapem South constituency delegates to prioritize a peaceful electoral process on Saturday, January 27, 2024, Amoah highlighted his consistent communication with delegates and stressed the significance of maintaining tranquility during the elections. He urged unity behind the eventual winner to secure the retention of the parliamentary seat.
