Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, the Second Deputy Whip of the Minority Caucus in Parliament, has cautioned traditional leaders to resist participating in sod-cutting ceremonies organized by the Akufo-Addo government this year. The legislator contends that projects initiated in an election year are often left incomplete, branding them as scams attributed to the government’s historical difficulty in seeing such endeavors through.

Addressing the media following a meeting with traditional leaders in Dodowa, Accra, Cudjoe urged Ghanaians to exercise vigilance in the face of seemingly beneficial infrastructure developments initiated during election periods. She specifically advised against chiefs donning traditional attire to partake in sod-cutting events orchestrated by a departing president seeking re-election.

Cudjoe also called on supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be proactive in safeguarding their votes during elections, emphasizing the significance of protecting ballots at the polling station level to prevent potential rigging. She urged vigilance at the branch level, asserting that the true victory lies there, cautioning against distractions that could lead to electoral fraud.
