Ketu North NDC Parliamentary Candidate Commissions Borehole Projects to Tackle Water Crisis

Mr. Edem Eric Agbana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary aspirant for Ketu North in the Volta Region, has initiated a significant project by commissioning mechanized borehole water systems to address long-standing water shortages in local communities.

The initiative aims to alleviate the persistent water crises that several communities in the area have faced for years. During the commissioning and launching ceremony held at Afife Klayekope and Adrume Hormegobo communities, Mr. Agbana highlighted the essential objective of ensuring access to clean drinking water for all communities within Ketu North by 2029.

Mr. Agbana articulated his commitment to this goal by outlining plans to provide 40 communities with mechanized boreholes in 2024 and an additional 60 by 2025. He underscored his determination to extend these water projects to benefit all 38 Electoral Areas in the constituency.

Acknowledging the support received, Mr. Agbana commended the BKQ Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), for contributing to the realization of these projects. He further revealed ongoing efforts to secure additional support from various NGOs, individuals, and institutions to actualize these plans.

Addressing communities yet to benefit from the project, Mr. Agbana urged patience, assuring them of forthcoming initiatives.

The Chief of Adrume, Togbi Adumetenu III, expressed gratitude for the borehole project, emphasizing the significance of water in sustaining life. He pledged responsible utilization of the facility for the collective benefit of the community.

Residents of the communities voiced appreciation for the initiative, praising the donors for their impactful contribution toward addressing the enduring water challenges faced by the local populace.
