During the Full Circle Africa Business Forum held in Accra, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the critical need for decisive leadership across African governments and enterprises to ensure the success of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

In his address, the President urged stakeholders to take proactive steps in reshaping the narrative about Africa, addressing and dispelling prevailing stereotypes that perpetuate notions of poverty and underdevelopment on the continent.

Highlighting the richness of Africa’s natural resources and the immense potential of its people, President Akufo-Addo stressed that it is imperative not to allow transient challenges such as poverty and underdevelopment to define the entire narrative of the continent.

He emphasized that Africa must seize the opportunity to redefine its image globally, steering away from perceptions that undermine its true potential. Akufo-Addo passionately expressed that “the time has come for Africans and individuals of African descent to craft their own story.”
