Rapper Edem found himself in the Kaneshie District Court on Monday morning, December 12, 2023, facing charges linked to an unfortunate incident on the George Walker Bush Highway. Reports from Graphic.com.gh detailed that the ‘Nyedzilo’ hitmaker was allegedly driving an unregistered Honda Touring vehicle when the incident occurred around 2 a.m. last Saturday, involving the tragic knocking down of an unidentified woman.
According to court records, the unidentified woman passed away due to the incident. Edem faced accusations of two charges: careless and inconsiderate driving, as well as negligently causing harm during his appearance before the court, presided over by Nana Abena Asor Owusu Amenyo.
During his court appearance, Edem did not enter a plea. However, he was granted bail amounting to GH¢50,000, requiring two sureties. He is scheduled to reappear in court on February 15, 2024.
The incident occurred subsequent to Edem’s participation as a guest on a television program at Abeka junction on Saturday night, extending into the early hours of Sunday morning.
