John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has strongly suggested the identity of his potential running mate for the upcoming 2024 elections. Addressing NDC supporters in the Bono East Region, Mahama indicated that the individual, who previously served as a Minister in his government, demonstrated commendable dedication in discharging their responsibilities.
Mahama emphasized that the process for choosing a running mate, governed by the party’s regulations, would take place in the coming year. While withholding the name, Mahama described the potential candidate as well-known, humble, and highly resourceful, citing their prior service within his administration.
The former president, vying for re-election in the 2024 polls, had Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate in both the 2016 and 2020 general elections.
This announcement by Mahama signifies a forthcoming decision in the selection of his running mate, laying the groundwork for the NDC’s strategy in the upcoming electoral contest.
