22-year-old John Allister, previously convicted of theft, is set to face a murder charge following the death of his employer at Sokoban-Apaaso.

Allister, who admitted guilt in the theft case involving an amount of GH¢167,660 and a mobile phone stolen from his former employer, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. The Asokore Mampong District court has scheduled his appearance on October 17, 2023, to address the murder charges.

The conviction stems from Allister’s admission of guilt in a separate case, where he was found guilty of stealing a substantial amount of money and a mobile phone from his previous employer.

The theft case led to his arrest and subsequent imprisonment for a period of 20 years. However, the grim circumstances surrounding his employer’s death have now brought murder charges to the forefront.
