18-Year-Old Sentenced to 24 Months in Prison for Cable Theft in Inchaban

 

Ghana Water Company Limited’s Property Recovered; Suspect Apprehended

In a recent development, the Shama Magistrate Court has sentenced 18-year-old Baba Salihu to 24 months in prison for his involvement in the theft of valuable cables owned by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in the serene town of Inchaban.

 

The arrest and subsequent conviction of Salihu came after diligent efforts by law enforcement agencies and the GWCL. The suspect was apprehended at the Inchaban station on Saturday, September 23, 2023, following a tip-off.

 

Nana Yaw Barima Barnie, the Communications Officer for GWCL in the Western and Central Regions, confirmed the successful arrest and subsequent court ruling. He praised the collaborative efforts of the community and security forces, which led to the recovery of the stolen cables and the arrest of the perpetrator.
