Protestors of the Occupy Julorbi House Demo Sing the National Anthem Under the Rain

The demonstrators of the OccupyJulorbiHouse protest remain resolute in their determination to ensure their voices are heard. A video currently in circulation captured the protesters standing in front of Jubilee House, where they sang the Ghana National Anthem passionately, even in the pouring rain.

However, their access to the president’s residence has been denied, as it is heavily guarded by fully armed police officers. This protest, which commenced yesterday, is scheduled to conclude tomorrow. Regrettably, it has faced significant challenges, including the arrest and mistreatment of some demonstrators by the police.

The core aspiration of these protesters is to exercise their freedom of speech and be allowed the opportunity to express their concerns. Their primary goal is to advocate for necessary changes and reforms. They emphasize the pressing issues of skyrocketing commodity prices and the deplorable condition of roads. They feel frustrated as they perceive that the government is turning a blind eye to these critical problems.
