I Had To Work Too Hard To Earn The Support Of Ghanaians – Sarkodie Tells Critics

Most decorated musician in Ghana, Sarkodie has explained why he said Ghanaians don’t really appreciate his music and support him enough.

Sarkodie is currently in Nigeria on a tour to promote his new ‘NO PRESSURE’ album.

During one of his interviews, Sarkodie did mention that when it comes to support from Ghanaians, he has received a little.

According to him, he has not received that much support from Ghanaians unlike Nigerians who support their own massively.

Sarkodie’s comment has angered many Ghanaians after the video went viral as they descended on him on social media for not appreciating their support which has brought him far in the music industry for the past 10years.

After receiving a lot bashing from Ghanaians, the Happy Day crooner has come back to explain further on why he said Ghanaians don’t appreciate their own.

According to him, whether people endorse him him or not he will still perform at the same energy he’s been suing.

He added that he does it for himself and so he’s not moved by the attitudes of people.

“When I go to show is not sold out and we have few people coming, still my energy is the same, I will still do the same performance, If you scream or you don’t, because I am doing it for myself, he said.”

“Ghanaians I would say they have been supporting but I had to work too much to earn the support,” he added.

The Adonai hitmaker revealed that there three stages Ghanaians support their own.

According to him, the first stage is Ghanaians see you as a potential, secondly they feel they made you and lastly, they want you to go off and give room for upcoming artistes.

He further added that in other countries they see some artistes as their legends who can’t be touched and there’s no news that can dent their image no matter what.

He said in Ghana, if an artist is still doing well they tag the person with bad news because they just want the person out of the system.
