BoG Establishes FinTech and innovation Office

The Bank of Ghana in a communique on Tuesday, 5 of may informed the general public of its establishment of a new FinTech and Innovation Office which is to support the the Bank’s cash-lite, e-payments, and digitisation agenda.

In the communique which was signed by the Secretary, Ms Sandra Thompson has it that, the office will be responsible for licensing and oversight of dedicated electronic money issuers (mobile money operators), payment service providers (PSPs), closed loop payment products, payment support solutions and other emerging forms of payment delivered by non-bank entities.
