General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has jabbed President Nana Akufo-Addo over the purchase of presidential jet.
Defense Minister, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul has defended the decision to spend £15,000 to hire a private jet for President Akufo-Addo.
Addressing the Parliament, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul said the President hired private jet because he couldn’t bath in Presidential jet.
In his address yesterday, the Defense Minister gave the house reasons why the country spent £15,000 of tax payers money an hour on the presidents travel to France.
These developments started after the MP for North Tongu in the Volta Region leaked the information to the media.
He also mentioned that “in this Covid Era, when you are travelling to multiple destinations like the President’s recent trip, Falcon jet couldn’t have been taken because we would have had to do technical stops which are not desirable.
When he is travelling with more than 20 people like he has been doing that has brought huge sums of money to this country the President may need not just the Falcon.”
Speaking on the issue, Mr Asiedu Nketia revealed that the late ex-president JJ Rawlings bought a Jacuzzi bathtub for GHc4,000 and it became a national issue during his time as the president.
He noted that if someone had said one day President Akufo-Addo would also purchase a Jacuzzi to be used in an aeroplane, no one would have believed it.
He wondered why President Akufo-Addo would purchase a Jacuzzi bathtub to be used in an aeroplane.
He then said recently someone passed a funny comment that ‘rain water is not safe nowadays, because it might be the urine of Nana Akufo-Addo.’
