Tanzania Premier League Set To Resume From 1 June 2020 Following Government Approval

The Tanzania Premier League and other football competitions are set to resume from 1 June 2020 after getting government clearance despite coronavirus fears.

On Thursday in Dar es Salaam, the President HE John Pombe Magufuli announced that all sporting activities have been given clear to return in the country.

The top division and all other football leagues were suspended in March over the growing concerns of the widespread of the novel coronavirus.

The remainder of the Tanzania Premier League 2019/2020 season will continue with matches being played behind closed doors amongst other measures.

Simba SC are leading the log standings with 71 points from 29 matches with the closest challenger being Azam FC with 54 points.

There are nine more games before the season will be concluded.
