The Accra Circuit Court on Friday, April 16, 2021, handed Akuapem Poloo a 90-day sentence for posing nude with her then seven-year-old son to mark his birthday.
This was after she pleaded guilty to three charges brought against her by prosecutors.
A #FreeAkuapmPoloo movement has been started on social media, with celebrities lending their voices to the advocacy.
Communication Director for the NDC, Mr Sammy Gyamfi has also reacted to the prison sentence handed to Poloo over her nvde photo with her son.
Reacted to the sentence, the politician cum lawyer described it as “very harsh and high-handed.”
According to the lawyer, non-custodial sentence to the actress would have been appropriate because she pleaded guilty and showed some remorse.
