Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) says it was having a discussion with Ghana Electricity Company (ECG) to provide a load shedding schedule following major planned maintenance work in the power sector from April to July 2021.
Corporate Communications Manager, Mr. Ebenezer Amankwah, in a radio interview with Radio Ghana monitored by Graphic Online on Monday evening [March 29, 2021] explained that some parts of Ghana will soon experience intermittent power outages for enable engineers and contractors to work on selecting substation plants across the country.
He said GRIDCo was currently in discussions with ECG management to publish a load shedding program to allow people in the affected areas to plan their lives properly within the maintenance project period.

He further explained that maintenance work at the substation plants has become critical to fully solve the congestion challenge.
He said they will have to commit to the distribution company, “agree on a specific schedule and communicate with the affected areas, which means that not all areas will be affected unless the project is in a particular area … and the duration inside what will happen.”
Over the past few days , there has been several discussions on ‘Dumsor’ which has sparked reactions all over social media.
‘Dumsor ‘ which was said to have been dealt with by the Akufo Addo led Govt appears to have been only covered by political ambitions and election winning jargons.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian celebrities have started voicing out on the issue as news of GRIDCO bankruptcy surfaced online two days ago.
