Rawlings Wanted Us to Run Away And Get Married But I refused – Nana Konadu Reveals

Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, is the wife of the late former of head of state, Jerry John Rawlings.

Nana Konadu has disclosed that at the time they were dating, Rawlings wanted them to elope to get married.

According to her, her family were not in support of their relationship and the intentions of marriage of the two.

In bid to find solution, the late president suggested they run away to a faraway place from family and be together.

Konadu declined that idea because she really wanted to be close to her family.

She made this revelation in her tribute read on her behalf by her daughter, Amina Rawlings, at the just-ended funeral.

“I recall you wanted us to elope and get married, again it did not sit well with me and so I said no,” that part of the tribute read.

As fate would have it, the two finally came together as husband and wife and produced four children together.

The children are Zanetor Rawlings, Amina Rawlings, Yaa Asantewaa Rawlings, and Kimathy Rawlings.
