Eight people have been reported dead, and six others injured following a tragic accident at Akyem Boadua in the Eastern Region.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Friday, March 7, 2025. According to reports, five people died on the spot, while three others succumbed to their injuries upon arrival at the hospital.
The vehicle, which was traveling from Kade to Accra, was reportedly speeding despite the driver being unfamiliar with the route. Passengers pleaded with him to slow down, but their warnings were ignored.
After passing Adankrono and heading towards Pentemtwam, the driver lost control due to the bushy nature of the road, which obstructed visibility. The vehicle somersaulted seven times before coming to a halt.
Shockingly, the driver fled the scene after the accident, leaving the injured behind.
