In an incident event that rattled parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake occurred on Thursday, causing panic among residents. The quake’s epicenter was identified in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan, 45 kilometers from Jurm village, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. Despite being the third major earthquake to hit Afghanistan in three months, there were no immediate reports of damage in either country.
The earthquake was felt in various cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Muzaffarabad in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.
Despite the quake’s intensity, no immediate damage was reported. Bilal Faizi, a spokesperson for Pakistan’s emergency services, confirmed that authorities were vigilant, stating, “So far, there has been no reported damage from the earthquake, though the earthquake was so strong that it terrified many people.”
While no immediate damage has been reported, the seismic activity has raised fears about the ongoing humanitarian challenges faced by the affected regions.
