5G Service Set to Launch in Ghana on November 1 – Communications Minister

Ghana’s Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has announced that the rollout of 5G services will begin on November 1, 2024. Speaking during an interview on Peace FM’s *Kokrokoo* show on October 2, she confirmed that all necessary infrastructure is in place for the launch.

The 5G service, the fifth generation of wireless technology, is expected to offer significantly faster internet speeds, improved download and upload times, stronger connectivity, and greater reliability compared to previous generations like 4G. It is estimated to be 10 times faster than 4G Plus.
