The Ashanti Regional Police Command has secured convictions against three Nigerian nationals involved in a series of vehicle thefts in the Kumasi metropolis.

The convicts, Francis Friday, Linus Agwazie, and Russell Ekenze were arrested on June 20, 2025, for targeting parked vehicles across the city.

On July 22, 2025, the three appeared before the Atasemanso Circuit Court, where Ekenze pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison with hard labour. His accomplices, Friday and Agwazie, pleaded not guilty.

However, the following day, July 23, Circuit Court 3 in Kumasi found both Friday and Agwazie guilty and sentenced them to eight years each in prison with hard labour, to run concurrently.

On the same day, Circuit Court 1 heard additional charges of vehicle theft against all three, sentencing each of them to 20 years in hard labour.
