Ghana coach Otto Addo is expected to announce the Black Stars’ squad this week ahead of two crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
The Black Stars will travel to N’Djamena to face Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on September 4, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8. The fixtures mark Matchdays 7 and 8 of the qualifiers.
After a difficult 2024, Ghana returned to form earlier this year, beating Chad 5-0 and Madagascar 3-0 in back-to-back victories. The performances reignited confidence among fans as the team looks to maintain momentum.
Addo, supported by assistant coaches John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda, has been scouting both foreign-based and local talents to assemble a balanced and competitive squad. Their efforts are aimed at ensuring Ghana stays at the top of Group I and strengthens its push for a fifth World Cup appearance.
The Black Stars currently lead Group I after six matches and will be relying on strong player selections and consistent performances to edge closer to securing qualification.
