Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, the Founder and Leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), has boldly declared that the upcoming 2024 general election in Ghana is essentially a battle between himself and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer.
During an appearance on the Ghana Kasa show on Kasapa 102.5FM, Osofo Kyiri Abosom asserted that Vice President Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is not a significant contender in the electoral contest. According to him, Bawumia lacks substantial achievements and has failed to fulfill the promises he made while in opposition.
“Bawumia has nothing good for the country,” Osofo Kyiri Abosom remarked. “The sort of things he preached in opposition he will do for Ghanaians when he’s in power, he’s not been able to do any of them. So what else does he have for Ghana? The 2024 election is between the NDC and GUM. As for Bawumia, he’s far behind, and cannot make any meaningful impact in the forthcoming election.”
Additionally, Osofo Kyiri Abosom criticized former President John Mahama, claiming that his previous tenure was marked by underperformance and unfulfilled promises. He urged Mahama to refrain from making empty pledges during his campaign.
