WAEC Refutes Claims of Relocating Headquarters to Nigeria

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has denied recent claims that it is planning to relocate its headquarters from Ghana to Nigeria.

Speculation arose following reports that financial challenges, allegedly due to the Ghanaian government’s indebtedness to WAEC, were impacting the council’s operations.

John Kapi, WAEC’s Head of Public Relations, dismissed these rumors, emphasizing that no discussions about relocation have occurred.

“There hasn’t been any discussion in this direction,” Kapi stated. “The law establishing WAEC specifies that its headquarters is in Accra, and there has been no change to that. We can confirm that no such plans are in place.”
