Vice President Bawumia Embarks on Diplomatic Visit to Italy and Vatican

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has embarked on a diplomatic visit to the Republic of Italy and the Vatican State, according to a press release from his spokesperson, Dr. Gideon Boako, dated April 23, 2024.

The purpose of the visit, as stated in the press release, is to strengthen the enduring relations between Ghana, Italy, and the Vatican State. During his visit, Vice President Bawumia is scheduled to hold bilateral talks, including a meeting with His Holiness Pope Francis.

Dr. Boako highlighted the importance of the meeting with Pope Francis, noting the Pope’s message of love, mercy, and inclusion, which has been embraced worldwide. The meeting is expected to emphasize common principles of peace, justice, and solidarity to guide towards a better future.
