Kojo Antwi, the multi-award-winning highlife artist, has asked folks who compare the current generation of musicians to seasoned ones like himself to stop doing so.
People grow inflated-headed and forget that they need to do more to accomplish, according to Kojo Antwi, when they start comparing up-and-coming artists to renowned artists.
“Stop comparing musicians with only one hit to us,” Julius Kojo Antwi said in an interview with Asaase Radio.
Young musicians, rather than the other way around, should be encouraged to learn from more experienced and talented musicians like him.
The legend went on to explain in his interview that the comparison causes more damage than good by extinguishing the flames of new artists too soon.
He replies, “It kills me that we put out their fires so early.” “It actually upsets me,” Kojo Antwi says, and he’s urged Ghanaians to “stop treating young musicians like they’re in a hospital queue” and “leave the scene.”
