The Office of the Special Prosecutor has followed the Accra High Court’s ruling to return Cecilia Dapaah’s money within seven days. They did so with her consent and the presence of her legal representatives. However, the funds were subsequently frozen again due to new evidence uncovered during the ongoing investigation.
Complying with the High Court’s order concludes the proceedings related to seizing Ms. Dapaah’s money, which began on July 24, 2023, as well as the freezing of her bank accounts and investments initiated on July 26, 2023.
Nonetheless, the Special Prosecutor’s investigation into Ms. Dapaah regarding suspected corruption and corruption-related activities, including the origin and ownership of significant sums of money associated with her, remains ongoing.
