Majority Leader Ato Forson named Finance Minister Designate, Dominic Ayine Named Attorney General 

President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled his initial ministerial appointments, naming Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, John Jinapor, and Dominic Ayine to pivotal roles in his administration.

A statement from the presidency on January 9, 2025, indicated that the president has submitted the nominations to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, for approval, as required by Article 78 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.

Ministerial Nominees

  1. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah ForsonMinister for Finance (Designate)
    Dr. Forson, a seasoned economist and former Deputy Finance Minister, will oversee Ghana’s economic recovery efforts and fiscal management.
  2. John Abdulai JinaporMinister for Energy (Designate)
    Jinapor, known for his expertise in energy policy, will be responsible for addressing Ghana’s energy challenges and ensuring sustainable power supply.
  3. Dominic Akuritinga AyineAttorney-General and Minister for Justice (Designate)
    Ayine, a legal expert and former Deputy Attorney-General, will lead the Justice Ministry, ensuring the rule of law and legal reforms in the country.
