Construction on Ghana’s National Cathedral is set to resume following the completion of an audit by Deloitte Ghana. Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, Chairman of the Board of the National Cathedral of Ghana, announced this after a meeting on September 20, 2024, between the Board and auditors.

The audit, covering the period from the project’s start until December 31, 2020, was authorized in response to public concerns over alleged corruption and questionable spending.

Apostle Onyinah stated that the completion of the audit report clears the way for the project to move forward. He also urged for continued prayer and financial support from Ghanaians to complete the $450 million project.

To date, taxpayers have spent $58 million, with church denominations contributing an additional GH¢2.21 million ($164,000). However, this amount falls short of the required funding.
