Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd Emerges as Top Company in Ghana at 20th Ghana Club 100 Awards

Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd, operating the Ahafo South Mine, secured the prestigious title of the best company in Ghana at the 20th edition of the Ghana Club 100 Awards. Besting a lineup of ninety-nine other esteemed companies, this gold mining enterprise climbed to the number one spot, marking a significant achievement in the realm of Ghanaian businesses.

Last year’s leading company, Zeepay, a financial technology firm, relinquished its top position and descended to the 13th spot in this year’s rankings. Scancom Plc Ghana (MTN Ghana) and Amanex Company Limited claimed the second and third positions, respectively, solidifying their status among the top-performing companies in the nation.

The event, held under the theme “Accelerating Economic Growth: Amplifying Ghana’s Global Market Footprint through AFCFTA,” aimed to evaluate Ghanaian companies effectively, fostering their confidence and competitive edge on the global stage.

Yofi Grant, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), emphasized the significance of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) pact as a pivotal opportunity for Ghanaian businesses to expand their reach globally. He highlighted GIPC’s commitment to enhancing Ghana’s private sector competitiveness within the African continent.

The 20th edition of the Ghana Club 100 Awards was a celebration of resilience, innovation, and excellence demonstrated by Ghanaian businesses across various strategic sectors, including agriculture, financial services, ICT, infrastructure, petroleum, mining services, manufacturing, tourism, health, and education.

The event comprised engaging sessions, including an Executive Networking Cocktail Session facilitating interactions among club members and high-level business executives. Subsequently, the main ceremony honored the enlisted businesses with prestigious awards. The night culminated in post-event celebrations featuring captivating performances by renowned High-Life artiste, Kofi Kinaata.

The list of top ten winners at the 20th edition of the Ghana Club 100 Awards included FBNBank Ghana, Benso Oil Palm Plantation Ltd, Abosso Goldfields Ltd, Dansworld International Services, Anglogold Ashanti Ltd, Newmont Golden Ridge Ltd (Akyem Mine), GoldFields Ghana (Tarkwa Mine), Amanex Company Limited, Scancom PLC (MTN Ghana), and ultimately, Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd (Ahafo South Mine) securing the top spot.
