Netizens Descend on Lilwin Over His Press Statement Following Car Accident Which Resulted in the Death of a 3-year-old boy

The aftermath of a tragic car accident involving actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, has sparked significant backlash online after a statement from his management was released.

The accident, which occurred last Saturday, resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy, Richard Tawiah Ampomah.

In the press release, Wezzy Empire, Lilwin’s management team, expressed their gratitude to the public and the medical staff at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for their support and care. They extended condolences to the bereaved family but also addressed what they called “unwarranted allegations” regarding the accident.

The statement clarified that Lilwin, his manager Raymoney, and their bouncer all suffered serious injuries, making it difficult to immediately grasp the extent of the accident’s damage. They urged for patience as the police investigate the incident.

However, the tone and content of the release have been met with strong criticism from the public, with many accusing Lilwin and his team of insensitivity and lack of accountability.

One netizen commented, “This is a very reckless statement to be very honest. You’re supposed to own up and take responsibility. This is about the death of a boy. Stop playing, man and let’s get serious.”

Another harshly criticized Lilwin, saying, “You drove recklessly, caused an accident that killed a young child, and you have not gone to his family to commiserate with them. But you got the strength to attend your movie premiere and also went to church for thanksgiving. You are a heartless soul, Lilwin, who doesn’t value human life. Don’t forget that you reap whatever you sow. Karma is waiting for you!”

A third comment pointed out the perceived lack of legal consequences, “If we are in a serious country whose laws work perfectly, by now you should’ve been behind bars.”

Some reactions also targeted the actor’s education and professionalism, “I have always said that illiteracy is a serious issue in this country. If you have an illiterate who thinks that he is a celebrity, this is what happens. If Ghana was a serious country, Lilwin should be answering questions by now. Why should a human being die because of a movie premiere? You have cut short the life of a boy just because you want to premiere a movie. And then instead of getting a professional PR to at least do damage control, you decide to come up with this.”

The accident, which happened in front of Grace Baptist Church at Amakom, Kumasi, also involved a Hyundai Santa Fe and another vehicle. Lilwin was reportedly on his way to premiere his latest movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” at KNUST.
