The University of Ghana Council has appointed Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Nana Aba Appiah Amfo takes over from Vice-Chancellor Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu.
Prof. Appiah Amfo’s appointment as Acting Vice-Chancellor takes effect from August 1, 2021.
She will be acting as the Vice-Chancellor of the University until the appointment of the substantive Vice-Chancellor.
Before her appointment, she was serving as the Dean at the School of Languages, University of Ghana.
Although her specialization is in Pragmatics (language use in context), her research interests are in Pragmatics (and semantics) of function words, Information structure, Grammaticalization and Language use in specific domains (health, gender, religion and migratory contexts)
She also has several publications to her credit.
