NABCo Beneficiaries, Rotational Nurses and Midwives Association, and Youth in Afforestation Threaten Protest Over Unpaid Allowances

NABCo beneficiaries, along with two other groups, have issued a warning of an upcoming protest scheduled for October 15. The demonstration is being organized by the Coalition of Nation Builders Corp (NABCo) Beneficiaries, the Rotational Nurses and Midwives Association, and the Youth in Afforestation, among other organizations. Their primary objective is to exert pressure on the government to address the longstanding issue of unpaid allowances owed to their respective groups.

Nana Takyi, the spokesperson for the Coalition of NABCO Beneficiaries, conveyed that the protest could be averted if the government promptly disbursed the necessary funds to settle their outstanding dues. He emphasized the urgency of their financial situation, citing rising expenses like electricity and water bills that have further strained their finances. He stated, “We are experiencing severe financial difficulties and struggling to afford basic necessities. Our sole request from the government is the release of funds to clear the accumulated allowances. If they take this action today, there would be no need for a demonstration. We are preparing to protest because the government has not addressed these outstanding allowances.”
