Ghanaian singer Mzbel has chimed in on the recent discourse sparked by Mary, a former househelp of the renowned artist Kuami Eugene, regarding the challenges she faced while employed by the music star.
Expressing her views on Instagram, the “16 Years” hitmaker suggested, “What Kwame needs is a nanny, not a maid,” emphasizing that it was merely a well-intentioned suggestion.
Mary, during an exclusive interview, disclosed her experience, citing her initial monthly pay of a meager Gh400 from the musician. Over time, her salary saw incremental increases of Gh100 annually until her recent dismissal.
Detailing the reason for her termination, Mary revealed being sent on an errand by a female friend of the ‘Monica’ artist, resulting in her return home after 12 am. Kuami Eugene cited concerns about being held responsible if something untoward happened to her, offering her a choice between dismissal or receiving Gh400 as her salary (post-increment).
