Monday 5th August Declared Public Holiday

The Ministry of Interior has issued a communique informing the general public that Sunday, 4th August 2024, marks Founders’ Day, a Statutory Public Holiday.

In recognition of the fact that Founders’ Day falls on a Sunday this year, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has declared Monday, 5th August 2024, as an additional Public Holiday. This decision was made by Executive Instrument (E.I) in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601).

The Ministry of Interior emphasizes that this additional Public Holiday should be observed nationwide, allowing citizens to commemorate and honor the founding fathers of the nation.
