The Ministry of the Interior has officially declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays in Ghana to mark this year’s Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration.
A press release signed by Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak on Saturday, March 22, 2025, announced that Eid-Ul-Fitr will be observed on either Sunday, March 30, or Monday, March 31, 2025.
Since March 30 falls on a Sunday, the President of Ghana, by Executive Instrument (E.I.), has declared March 31 and April 1 as additional public holidays in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601).
The government encourages the public to observe these days as public holidays nationwide.
