Manchester United Have No Plans To Replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

A convincing victory against Tottenham in the Premier League and a dramatic draw to Atalanta in the Champions League seems to have convinced Manchester United owners to hold on to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Even after a 2-0 loss to Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday, the club still insists on having Solskjaer at the dugout.

Sky Sports reports Man United have no intention to sack the Norwegian, even after pressure from fans following a rather disastrous month.

Solskjaer is expected to take charge of the game at Watford after the international break on November 20, even though speculation about his future still remains a subject of debate.

It is believed a decision will not be made until the departure of Chief Executive Ed Woodward, whose tenure is supposed to end at the end of the year.

“I have good communication all the time with the club that’s very upfront and honest about the situation. I’m sure when we come back the players will be fresh in their minds from internationals, and of course the demands on the players, on me, are going to be high. We’ve just got to get back to what we started to look like and what we were for a while. We’ve got the players to do that,” said Solskjaer after the Manchester Derby.

Solskjaer noted it was a difficult period for the club, admitting the club’s playing style is not what should be considered Manchester United level.

“We’ve been through this a few times. Since the last game we played here, it’s been a very difficult period and we’ve gone away from what we used to be. We need to be on the front foot more, I can’t look at myself and say this is the way I want Manchester United to play,” he said.
