Man Arrested for Smashing Vehicle Windscreens at Parliament

A man has been apprehended for allegedly damaging the windscreens of multiple vehicles parked within the premises of Ghana’s Parliament on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Eyewitnesses reported that the suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was seen moving among parked vehicles and using a metal object to smash their windscreens. The motive behind his actions is currently unknown.

Parliament’s security personnel acted swiftly, arresting the individual at the scene. While being apprehended, the suspect was heard saying:
“Father, have mercy on them. Daddy, they don’t know what they are doing… It is for your own good.”

Following his arrest, the suspect was handed over to the Ghana Police Service for further investigation.

Authorities are yet to provide additional details, including the suspect’s identity and the rationale for his actions. Investigations are ongoing.
