Investments from Saudi Arabia Will Flourish if Bawumia Wins Presidential Election, Asserts Maurice Ampaw

Maurice Ampaw, a prominent private legal practitioner, is advocating for Ghanaians to elect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President in the upcoming 2024 elections. He asserts that such a decision would have significant benefits for the nation, as it could attract investments from countries like Saudi Arabia.

In an interview on Happy FM, Ampaw expressed his belief that Dr. Bawumia is destined to become Ghana’s first Muslim president. He underlined that this would open the door for substantial investment from the Arab world, particularly Saudi Arabia, contributing to the much-needed transformation of Ghana’s economy.

“If Bawumia wins, it is in line with what God has said. For the first time, we are going to get a Muslim President. And Saudi Arabia and the Islamic community would be investing hugely in this country to support our economy. That is what we need now,” Ampaw remarked.

Ampaw firmly rejected the notion that Ghana is not ready for a Muslim president, emphasizing, “I’m in favor of a Muslim becoming President. Ghana is ready for this, and Insha Allah, we will achieve it.”

He went on to express his clear stance that he would not support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, were to become the party’s presidential candidate. Ampaw stated that Agyapong’s candidacy would not only be detrimental to the NPP but to the entire nation.

“I cannot align myself with Kennedy Agyapong’s presidency. I cannot endorse it. In the first place, he lacks the qualifications required for the presidency. It would be a political catastrophe for the nation to even contemplate Ken as a presidential candidate, to the extent that people would vote for him,” he conveyed in the Twi language.

Ampaw concluded by suggesting that Agyapong’s candidacy for the NPP would essentially guarantee a victory for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections.
