I Invested Nearly $100,000 in Promoting ‘A Country Called Ghana’ – Lilwin

Renowned Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah LilWin, has revealed that he has spent close to $100,000 to promote his latest film, ‘A Country Called Ghana’.

To boost the movie’s visibility, LilWin purchased a brand-new Mercedes Benz C43 AMG and customized it with promotional flyers. The actor and producer noted that the purchase and branding of the Benz alone cost nearly GH₵500,000.

Additionally, LilWin mentioned that over 3000 T-shirts, each costing GH₵50, have been produced, and more than 60 billboards have been erected in Accra and Kumasi, each costing GH₵6000. These efforts are all part of his strategy to promote the movie and garner support for Ghana’s film industry.

LilWin emphasized his dedication to the industry and his desire for Ghanaians to support the film. “The promotion of this movie is nearing $100,000. People may think Kwadwo is boasting, but I can provide details to prove it. The AMG Benz alone, which we’ve branded for the movie’s promotion, is almost GH₵500,000… I could have bought a mansion and branded it ‘A Country Called Ghana,’” he explained on May 14 during an interview on 3FM Drive.

The film, ‘A Country Called Ghana,’ is set to premiere on May 17 at the National Theatre in Accra and on May 25 in Kumasi. The movie features prominent actors, including top Nigerian stars like Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, and Awilo.

In related news, LilWin has shared that his biggest challenge as an actor is performing romantic scenes. While he does eventually take on such roles, he admitted feeling uncomfortable. “There’s no character I have not played. The only role I’m not comfortable with is romance or love roles. I feel shy to even kiss another character although I will do it, it makes me feel uneasy,” he confessed on May 14 during an interview with 3Xtra’s King Kwaku Mensa.

Currently, LilWin is on a media tour to promote ‘A Country Called Ghana’.
